University of Rochester launches rap video as part of student recruitment campaign

The University of Rochester is home to many clubs, societies and sports teams, but it was their all-male vocal group The Midnight Ramblers that has helped to get the World Wide Web talking about UoR.

The group were commissioned to create a song about the University for their 2012 student recruitment video. The group decided to go for a rap song, based on Fort Minors track Remember The Name, replacing the song’s lyrics with verses about the University of Rochester.

When I first heard that the University of Rochester had made this, I didn’t think for one minute that it was going to be any good. Having watched it though, I was pretty impressed. It’s a remarkably creative way to get students talking about their university. It’s also pretty funny.

Having racked up nearly 90,000 views in just a few months the video is certainly looking like a huge hit for both the University of Rochester and The Midnight Ramblers. Well done to both of you!

So, what do YOU think?
